Cefuroxime Axetil Tablet
[Description]
It is a film-coated tablet with almost white core.
[Indications]
It is used for the following infections caused by the bacterial susceptible to cefuroxime:
- Pharyngitis and tonsillitis
- Acute otitis media
- Maxillary sinusitis
- Chronic/Acute bronchitis
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infection
- Skins and soft tissue infections
- Acute uncomplicated gonorrhea (urethritis and cervicitis)
- Impetigo
[Administration and dosage]
Orally administered. For adults: 0.5g (125mg/tablet: 4 tablets; 250mg/tablet: 2 tablets) per day; in lower respiratory tract infections 1g (125mg/tablet: 8 tablets; 250mg/tablet: 4 tablets) per day; in uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections 0.25g (125mg/tablet: 2 tablets; 250mg/tablet: 1 tablets) per day, in 2 divided doses, the recommended dosage for uncomplicated gonorrhea is 1g (125mg/tablet: 8 tablets; 250mg/tablet: 4 tablets) in single dose.
For children of 5~12 years of age: in acute pharyngitis or tonsillitis, 20mg/kg per day in 2 divided doses, not exceeding 0.5g (125mg/tablet: 4 tablets; 250mg/tablet: 2 tablets) of daily dosage; in acute otitis media and impetigo, 30mg/kg in 2 divided doses, not exceeding 1g (125mg/tablet: 8 tablets; 250mg/tablet: 4 tablets) of daily dosage.
