Cefixime Capsule

[Description]

White to slightly yellow powder in capsule.

[Indications]

Used for the following infections caused by the bacterial susceptible to cefixime:

  • Acute/ chronic bronchitis
  • Pharyngitis
  • Tonsillitis
  • Uncomplicated gonorrhea (cervicitis and urethritis)
  • Acute uncomplicated gonorrhea (urethritis and cervicitis)
  • Otitis media
  • Urinary tract infections

[Usage and administration]

For adults: 400mg per day. For children: 8mg per kg of body weight, in single or 2 divided doses. Children with over 50kg of body weight or above 12 years of age use the adult dosage. For uncomplicated gonorrhea single dosage of 400mg is recommended. For those with renal insufficiency the dosage should be adjusted accordingly:
